Three Weeks Past Due

You may think I would have amassed a copious collection of Christmas decorations by now. Is it because I love Christmas? Nope. I mean, Christmas is alright. It is what it is… overly commercialized and almost lacking any religious association these days (this is what you start to think as you get older and more cynical and you aren’t Christian). So, why decorations? Simply because my name is Joy and the latter months of the year are just about the only time anything is ever manufactured with the word/name “Joy” on it. Sure I have a couple coffee mugs (thank you Jess and Maria J), a stuffed bear wearing a hooded sweatshirt (saving this for my forthcoming twin nephews), and a holiday decoration or two displaying my name; but this morning I came to realize that this collection is both too small and quite perfect at the same time. So, I thank all of my friends and family who have resisted buying me only personalized gifts, otherwise all of my home decorating would have to be completed in red and green.
